Suckered Again
It’s amazing how often you here a police association official expressing shock, dismay, and disgust after finding out that a politician said one thing and then did another.
It’s almost as if some people aren’t clear on what it is politicians do for a living.
In this latest dust-up, officials with the Springfield Police Officers Association are outraged that a city budget surplus will not be going toward officer salaries.
“How truly frustrating,” a post on the group’s Facebook page said. “For (fiscal year 2014) we identified over $3 million that could be used to address employee wages. But quickly the City identified a ‘need’ for a new self funded liability insurance policy, so sorry guys we have nothing available for additional staff or wages.”
