Samuel Alito, will write the opinion in Harris, which points to bad news for public-employee unions. “Anti-union is his signature issue,” tweeted Rick Hasen, a University of California-Irvine law professor.
It’s the most important case involving unions and collective bargaining in the last 50 years in this country. The case is Harris v. Quinn and the opinion will be written by a guy that absolutely hates unions, Justice Sam Alito. The only thing more interesting than the outcome of the Supreme Court case is the fact that virtually no one knows anything about it. If the guys with all the momentum on this issue prevail there will no longer be “right to work” (cops and firefighters excluded for now) states like Wisconsin. The USA will be a right to work nation where police associations are required by law to offer services and benefits to non-members.
