Police Union Radio Show is Big Hit
Due to high ratings, the Dade County PBA’s Rapid Response Radio Show is moving to a weekday, drive-time slot. Starting November 3, the show will air on Tuesday evenings from 5 to 6 pm on WZAB-AM (880).
“The support the show has received has been overwhelming. We look forward to reaching even more listeners in this time slot as we continue our mission of bringing interesting guests on the show and talking about topics that impact our community,” said John Rivera, who serves as the lead host.
Rivera, who also serves as president of the Dade County Police Benevolent Association is known for his straightforward comments and passionate stance on public safety.
Rivera is one of the few leaders of a law enforcement association to host a radio show and take calls from the public. So far it’s been a huge success in getting the police perspective out to the public and generating support for the job law enforcement does for their communities day in and day out.
The Rapid Response Radio show is an hour-long program focusing on the issues facing the South Florida community. The program provides a forum to delve deeper into issues and ask thought provoking questions about what is really going on in government and our community. After its launch a year ago, the show quickly went from airing twice a month to airing as a weekly broadcast. It is now moving to a drive time slot on Tuesdays, 5-6 p.m.
The Rapid Response Radio show encourages participation from the community. “We open the phone lines for uncensored dialogue with listeners. We want to hear from them. We want to know what’s on our
listeners minds,” said Rivera. The listener call in number is (305) 541-2350.
