New Phoenix police and fire contracts eliminate spiking
When it comes to attacking public employee retirement savings, some things are harder than others. One of the easiest ways to get the ball of “shared sacrifice” rolling is to highlight the practice that critics call “spiking.” That’s where you work tons of overtime in your last year or two on the job and retire based on those increased earnings.
