“I Call B.S. on DOJ!”
Steve Loomis, the new head of the Cleveland Police Patrolman’s Association, recently made his first comments about the Department of Justice Report that found a pattern of excessive force and abusing suspects’ rights.
“The crux of that report is without any merit,” Loomis told WKYC’s Tom Beres. “It’s written by people that sit behind a desk and aren’t out on the street. … (I) disagree wholeheartedly. That’s based on 600 random reports they pulled out of hundreds of thousands.”
Loomis also suggested the report was aimed at helping U.S. Attorney Steve Dettelbach achieve a promotion. “The fact of the matter is Mr. Dettelbach has an agenda, and he wants to work in Washington … but not on our backs,” he said.
