CLEAT: for us, by us
One of the things that separates the Combined Law Enforcement Associations of Texas from the rest of the pack is the fact that CLEAT was the first union to conduct training in Texas. CLEAT was the first to hire on-staff attorneys that work only for the members. CLEAT attorneys were the first to be onsite at critical incidents. CLEAT attorneys were the first union lawyers to appear before the Supreme Court or appeal cases up and down the Appellate System. While many members are aware of the history of the association and the role it plays in representing the interests of Texas law enforcement professionals, some of the young guys might not be too familiar with the organization and what it does for them. CLEAT’s new video is a great way to get that message across – especially to the younger crowd that may only know about organized labor from what they hear in the corporate media.
