CLEAT Demands Parole of Cop Killer be Denied
In a letter (see below) to the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles, CLEAT President Sergeant Todd Harrison and Executive Director Charley Wilkison requested that the parole of Samuel Lee Hillburn be denied.
Officer Dwayne Freeto was assisting a stranded motorist with a flat tire at 3:50 AM. His patrol car was struck from behind by the inmate’s vehicle, causing it to burst into flames and trapping Officer Freeto inside. At the time of the accident, inmate #06809804 had a blood alcohol content of over twice the legal limit.
Officer Freeto, a U.S. Army veteran, had served with the Fort Worth Police Department for only nine months at the time of his death. He left behind a loving wife and two daughters, his parents, and brother.
