VIDEO: Cops Forced to Wear Diapers for Pope’s Visit
It’s hard to imagine the work slowdown, grievance filings, and other forms of protest that would erupt in the U.S. or Canada if your members were forced to wear diapers working a dignitary detail. But that’s exactly what’s happened in Manila, the capital of the Phillipines, over the weekend.
More than 2,000 traffic cops working security for the Pope’s visit there on Sunday were ordered to wear adult-sized diapers after supervisors feared that the cops’ performance would be “hindered” by the city’s lack of portable toilets.
In a video published on The Independent‘s website, officers are seen bare-legged and clad in diapers with their regular police attire on the top halves of their bodies.
