Throw out the pills and get to the gym
The evidence just keeps rolling in that exercise is the single most important thing you can do for your health. And now there’s a new report out that says working out is probably more effective than drugs in combating disease and illness.
The study included people with one of four diseases: heart disease, chronic heart failure, stroke or diabetes. Only in chronic heart failure were drugs noticeably more effective than exercise. One of the doctors involved said, “our results suggest that exercise can be quite potent in treating heart disease and the other conditions, equaling the lifesaving benefits available from most of the commonly prescribed drugs, including statins.”
