Texas Police Union Demonstrates Its Clout in Legislature
During the 2015 session of the Texas Legislature, law enforcement was in the crosshairs of both parties seeking to push their political agendas at the expense of everyday peace officers.
But the CLEAT Public Affairs team never backed down in to fight to protect your rights, whether the issue was a body-camera bill that would have trampled on the legitimate privacy rights of individual officers or an open-carry bill that would have tied the hands of officers in the field. Through hard work and rapid response, CLEAT made sure the interests of law enforcement remained standing tall despite the gale-force political winds against it.
And along the way, CLEAT was able to win passage of the long overdue legislation to double the survivors’ benefits for families of the fallen.
