The New Face of Law Enforcement?
Here’s the best ammunition you will ever find to use against the people who want to privatize the profession of law enforcement. It turns out Omar Mateen was a licensed and armed security guard employed by G4S, one of the largest security companies in the world. The company had Homeland Security contracts to transport illegals caught by Border Patrol agents. If this company does do screening, it’s obviously ineffective.
As you know, there are powerful interests funding serious efforts to de-fund our law enforcement agencies so the business can go to companies like G4S. If they are successful, instead of the highly trained professional law enforcement officers we have now, we can look forward to an army of Omar Mateen’s providing the most important service and function of our government—keeping people safe and bringing justice to those who harm us.
The story below was published on Breibart.com. If you have people in your city or town who are cutting your pay, laying you off, reducing training, and not providing you with the right equipment to keep you safe, their ultimate goal is to hand over public safety to the private sector so they can make more billions. And you need to make the argument to your citizens—whether it’s a press conference, op-ed piece, TV interview, or web posting—that Omar Mateen on patrol will be the result of this folly.

Mateen is still licensed as a weapons eligible security guard through the Jupiter, Fla headquartered US subsidiary of G4S plc, a multinational British corporation that is the largest security provider in the world, according to the Palm Beach Post.
The Hill reported that Mateen became known to the FBI in 2013 after he made “inflammatory comments to coworkers alleging possible terrorist ties” to other workers at G4S plc, where he was employed since 2007.
The FBI investigated Mateen after Abu-Salha in 2015 became the first American suicide bomber in Syria. Omar Mateen lived only 30 minutes south of Abu-Salha’s home in Vero Beach, Fla.
Although Mateen was interviewed by the FBI at least 3 times and was for some period of time on the terrorist watch list, it appears that his security clearances and weapons permits were never suspended.
G4S issued a statement, “We are shocked and saddened by the tragic event that occurred at the Orlando nightclub. We can confirm that Omar Mateen had been employed with G4S since September 10, 2007. We are cooperating fully with all law enforcement authorities, including the FBI, as they conduct their investigation. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of the friends, families and people affected by this unspeakable tragedy.”
The firm’s website states that the company is the largest security company in the United States and the world. They have operations in more than 100 countries with 610,000 employees. In the US, G4S has more than 50,000 employees.
