Nation’s largest police union gets tough
In a series of advertisements appearing in major daily and weekly community newspapers around New York City, the PBA which represents over 23,000 patrol officers in the NYPD, is reminding New Yorkers that their police officers are overworked, understaffed, underpaid and unappreciated.
This ad campaign is designed to progressively ratchet up the pressure on City Hall to offer NYPD cops a competitive wage package and policies that recognize these officers’ outstanding, professional performance.
The PBA expects the campaign to last for months or, as President Pat Lynch says, “as long as it takes.”
