Sr. Deputies Quit After No Raise
Via WHEC—Rochester, NY:
The Monroe County Sheriff (New York) is finally answering questions after a mass exodus of senior deputies.
A contract dispute between the Road Patrol Union and Monroe County recently triggered the retirement of 41 senior deputies, many of whom were criminal investigators, unit supervisors and members of specialized patrols for DWI enforcement and pistol permit background checks.
For three weeks, News10NBC has been requesting an interview with Monroe County Sheriff Patrick O’Flynn to talk about how the retirements are impacting public safety. Our requests were denied so, News10NBC Investigative Reporter Jennifer Lewke caught up with Sheriff O’Flynn at a recent public event.
