Making a deal
There was a time in the U.S. where Democratic presidents and conservative Senators and Representatives each gave up something to compromise and make a deal on major legislation that moved the country forward. It’s the same dynamic that’s so important for police unions when they sit down to negotiate their contracts. But sadly the spirit of compromise and deal making is rapidly becoming a lost art the result of which a large increase in stalled contract talks. This video takes a look back at some big deals that were made that seem like they would be impossible to pull of today.
