The San Diego POA recently partnered with the San Diego PD and the San Diego Police Foundation to co-host an “Inside the SDPD” Media Day, which gave local media an opportunity to spend an afternoon walking in the shoes of an officer.

Topics of discussion included use-of-force protocol, traffic stops, police pursuits, and SWAT tactics. The experience was quite an eye-opener for reporters and other members of the public, all of whom got to experience some of the stress and split-second decision making—some with life-and-death consequences—that law enforcement officers experience on a daily basis.
