Facebook a minefield for cops
Cops blowing off steam on the broadcast medium that is social media can be a real challenge for the organizations representing those law enforcement officers.
If you work at a police association you’re already well aware of the minefield that is police officer social media content. But despite the suspensions, terminations, lawsuits and public relations damage racially inflammatory postings to Facebook by cops, many police officers are still deeply confused about the nature of the nexus between free speech rights, conduct unbecoming and “privacy” settings.
And anytime one of these dust-ups involves three consecutive capital letter “K’s”, you can expect national, if not international media attention.
