Down with Facebook
We are frequently besieged with requests from law enforcement leaders for information that will encourage people to avoid, or at least think clearly about, the use of so-called social media like Facebook. As any employer or association leader is painfully aware, police officers and association members can frequently be their own worst enemy when they rant and rave online. What’s worse, most of the people that jam themselves up on Facebook and the like have no idea what they’ve signed on for when they create an account. The first article here deals with what it is that Facebook users agree to when they sign up – which is pretty much everything. The second article deals with the irony of “social media” making most of us feel lonelier and more disconnected.
