In Nevada, the Reno City Council may double what the City is paying to a legal firm to negotiate its union contracts, again. This week, an item on the Council agenda was pulled and continued to June 25. It would pay the firm Fisher & Phillips LLP up to $600,000 to negotiate its union contracts. If approved, this would be the second time this year the contract was doubled. In 2013, the Council agreed to retain the Los Angeles-based firm for an amount not to exceed $150,000. In February, the Council agreed to extend the contract to 2015, and double what it was paying to as much as $300,000.
