Association to city: We don’t want raises, we’re outta here!
With lots of police employees looking at three-year wage freezes, give-backs and the loss of defined benefit retirement programs (pensions) it’s unusual for a police association to turn down pay increases. It’s even more unusual for police officers protesting for better working conditions to say that they’ll all go to work for a neighboring agency as a negotiating strategy. Never the less, the Palm Beach County Police Benevolent Association recently had members protesting outside City Hall with t-shirts that read, “”Let us go to PBSO,” referring to the Palm Beach County, Florida Sheriff’s Office.
