A Police Union With Power!
The search is on for a new LAPD Chief, as Chief Charlie Beck is set to retire in June.
Check out this interview on Fox News with Charlie Beck, the outgoing chief, and Robert Harris, director at the Los Angeles Police Protective league (LAPPL). The L.A. police union has been more than successful getting their message out as you can see from this video. The reporters gave Robert ample time to tell the viewers what the League was looking for in a new chief. Harris said the union will welcome anyone to the job who is qualified and will do the job for the citizens of LA and its officers.
“The LAPPL’s clear preference is that the Mayor’s selection for the next chief be the most qualified for the job,” Harris said. “We need someone who is committed to reducing violent crime, addressing our officer understaffing crisis, and preparing the LAPD to secure our city during the 2028 Olympic Games.”
